Verses on Prayer

Picture
Below are some great verses that we want to share with you to encourage you:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with  thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
~Philippians 4:6-7

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. ~James 5:16

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s
people. ~Ephesians 6:18

Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ~Romans 8:26

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ~1 John 1:9

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in  the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the  truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father,   who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep  on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of
their many  words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask  him."
~Matthew 6:5-8

"To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 'Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth  of all I get.' But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not
even look  up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner'. I  tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified
before God.  For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will  be exalted'"
~Luke 18:9-14
